Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Piruse mobile application (“App”), operated for informational travel guidance about volcanic and mountain destinations in Europe. By downloading, opening, or using Piruse, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What Piruse Provides

Piruse is a curated guide for browsing places, maps of destination markers, travel notes, safety tips, a prep checklist, and a short volcano knowledge quiz. Features may include saving spots, marking trip status, writing private field memos, attaching optional photos or voice notes on device, comparing places, and purchasing optional coin packs. Content is provided for general information and personal trip planning inspiration only.

3. Eligibility & Account

You must be able to form a binding agreement under the laws of your region. Sign-in in Piruse creates a local session on your device. You are responsible for activity on your device. You may log out or delete local account data from the App’s account screen; deletion clears session and related local records (including field media and coin balance) on that device and cannot be undone.

4. Optional Media & Permissions

Field photos and voice memos are optional. If you grant camera, photo library, or microphone access, media you capture stays on your device for your own trip notes. Do not capture or upload content you are not allowed to record. Personalized Trail Tips may request App Tracking permission; you can keep that setting off.

5. In-App Purchases

Optional consumable coin packs are offered through Apple In-App Purchase. Prices are shown in the App and charged by Apple according to your App Store account. Purchases are final subject to Apple’s refund rules. Coin balances are stored locally on your device. Virtual coins have no cash value outside the App and are not redeemable for money.

6. Acceptable Use

• Use the App only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise in writing.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the App or its content.
• Do not misrepresent affiliation with Piruse or use our branding without permission.
• Do not attempt to manipulate purchases, coin balances, or StoreKit flows.

7. Travel & Safety Disclaimer

Volcanic, alpine, and coastal environments can be hazardous. Trail status, weather, park rules, ferry schedules, and access can change without notice. Always follow local authorities, park staff, and posted warnings. Piruse does not provide emergency services, real-time hazard alerts, guided tours, bookings, insurance, or professional geological advice. You assume all risks associated with travel and outdoor activity based on information in the App.

8. Content Accuracy

We aim to keep catalog text helpful and current, but places, coordinates, descriptions, and tips may contain errors or become outdated. You should verify critical details (hours, closures, permits, transport) from official sources before traveling. The Map view shows curated markers and is not a live navigation or hazard system.

9. Intellectual Property

The App name, design, branding, and curated content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from App content except as allowed by law or with prior written consent. Field media you create remains yours; you grant yourself the right to store it in the App on your device.

10. Third-Party Services

The App may open system features (such as sharing, camera, photo picker, microphone, StoreKit payments, or App Tracking prompts) or links to third-party websites (including these Terms and our Privacy Policy). Payment processing is provided by Apple. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Piruse is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Piruse and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, trips, coins, or profits arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App, including reliance on travel content.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” above will change when we do. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
